Quizzes, Respondus, Wimba Create and moving to moodle

Answer from Mark was that he expects quizzes in Blackboard to come across "99%' okay.

He doesn't believe the Wimba quizzes will work as they aren't 'real' quizzes. They are more of a local html file. They will definitely NOT show up in either the Blackboard gradebook or the Moodle gradebook so if that is a requirement don't go there.

Currently Respondus makes 'real' quizzes but none of its export formats match Moodle's import formats. Perhaps if you are using it to get stuff into Blackboard you'll be okay. After we transition I suspect it will be a brand new world. Respondus have an integration into Moodle which Netspot have reviewed and are at this point in time NOT recommending it to their clients. The reason as Mark passed it on to me is that the integration tool doesn't follow the good practices guidelines for Moodle. It wants to directly access the Moodle database, which is not good. I believe they have had changes recommended. We shall wait and see.

I think we should put these issues together and look at them as we do the test migrations.
At the moment from what I'm seeing the 'safest' path for quizzes is to build real quizzes in blackboard. If that changes we will tell you immediately.

For the Sakai environment, the RL project is building an export tool for the quizzes in Tasks, Tests & Quizzes tool. The Tests & Quizzes tool already has an export function.

We expect these items of the Sakai units to be transitioned when that tool is available. We are hopeful that a test will be available before Christmas break.
