The central learning space contains:
1. Tools for disseminating information from teacher to students via resources like
a. Media i.e. Acland’s Video Atlas of Human Anatomy (DVD streaming version)
b. Links to interactive websites i.e. www.getbodysmart.com/
c. Glossary (online search engine) of anatomical terms i.e. www.med.unsw.edu.au/somsweb.nsf/resources/histology02/$file/AnatomyGlossary2004_V2.pdf
d. Wikis as information site allowing editing not only by teacher
e. Database designed with the right learning activity
(best students search, share, collect and add created artefacts)
2. Tools for interaction, collaboration and engagement like
a. News/Discussion Forums with students communicating with you & peers in groups (With high message volume the risk of losing info is high.) Topics offer additional readings stored in UNE e-reserve and via links on online-books – cheaper for students.
b. Wikis for brainstorming and collaborative writing, maybe for planning a project.
